Server Administration
This department provides support for the Tribe’s IT infrastructure including hardware software, network connectivity along with network administration responsibilities. The department also assists programs in planning and deploying their server needs and serves as backup to the Network Administrator.
The server administrator also handles administration of new server equipment, handles server deployment, server decommissioning, server name changes and inter-office transfers of server equipment. He also assists the Information Security Manager and Network Administrator in performing server administration duties and upgrades to both the network and security infrastructure.
- Server consolidation design and implementation.
- Server monitoring to address application performance & tuning issues.
- Participates as a project team member in designing, developing, and implementing architectural infrastructure & Windows Server technologies for business.
- Provides technical support/direction and problem resolution for server related issues.
- Develops guidelines and procedures to ensure the integrity & security of the Tribe’s servers.
- Monitors server activity and escalates issues to appropriate levels necessary.
- Monitors backup status and resolves any issues with the backups.
