Job Interview Tips
Prior to Interview
Review the current job description for the position you are seeking.
Learn about the organization
Be ready to briefly describe your experience, showing your skills and how they relate to the job you are interviewing for.
Be ready to answer questions, such as “Why do you want this job?” “Why should we hire you?” “What are your strengths and weaknesses?”
Personal Appearance
Dress properly for your interview.
Make sure your hair and nails are well groomed.
Do not chew gum or smoke.
During Your Interview
Arrive 15 minutes early to the interview.
Greet your interviewer with a firm handshake when you enter the room.
Speak slowly and clearly using proper English, avoid slang.
Use proper body language to show interest – using eye contact and good posture.
Relax and answer each question concisely and don’t be afraid to pause for a moment to collect your thoughts. Also, you can always ask to come back to that certain question.
Ask questions about the position and the organization, but avoid questions whose answers can easily be found on the company website.
Always thank the interviewer when you leave and shake hands.
